A Study of Leadership Styles of Charter Principals

OBJECTIVE
The purpose of this study was to determine if there was a relationship between the leadership practices of charter school principals and the performance of students in their charter schools.

METHODOLOGY
A convenience sample yielded five charter schools in Minnesota, whose students’ scores on the Minnesota Standards and Assessments tests were publicly available. Each principal completed the Leadership Practices Inventory, and had an unspecified number of LPI-Observers also completed.

KEY FINDINGS
No conclusive evidence was found to support or reject the hypothesis.
