Higher Education Students
OBJECTIVE This study was conducted to determine the extent of difference in leadership practices of matriculating and graduate cohorts of the College Student Personnel (CSP) Master’s degree program.
METHODOLOGY Students who were gradating from Ohio University’s CSP program completed the Leadership Practices Inventory (N = 13) as did current students (N = 15) (100 % response rate). Internal reliability scores ranged from .71 to .83.
KEY FINDINGS LPI scores of graduating students were all higher than those from matriculating ones, although the only significant difference was on Challenging (higher for graduating students). Both groups scored the five leadership practices in the same order as reported in previous studies, which “adds to the face and concurrent validity of the LPI instrument” (p.97).
